The Cheshire Novel Prize is an excellent option for authors who are serious about getting their novels out there. Not only is there an excellent panel of judges (see below), the competition also stands out because ALL entrants receive feedback on their submission.
The judges for this year’s competition are:
– Jenny Hewson, LITERARY AGENT AT LUTYENS AND RUBINSTEIN
– Will Dean, WRITER
– Kate Burke, LITERARY AGENT – BLAKE FRIEDMANN
– Kiya Evans, ASSOCIATE LITERARY AGENT – PAPER LITERARY
– Rosanna Forte, DITORIAL DIRECTOR AT LITTLE, BROWN UK
– Katie Seaman, EDITOR
With a top prize of £1,500, there is clearly a lot of appeal. But it is the prestige of winning the award that could really kickstart your career as a novelist.
Note that long-listed novels will be announced on 1st July 2025 at 2pm and all long-listed writers will be required to send an additional 15,000 words including the original 5,000 words to make 20,000 words, plus your 500 word synopsis, by 3rd July 2025.
