The Solstice Nature Prize for Young Writers is delivered by Writing East Midlands, with great thanks to Arts Council England and the Amazon Literary Partnership for funding the 2024 competition. It is open to UK residents who fit into one of the four age categories:
(7-11 years) – you will need permission to enter.
(12-14 years) – you will need permission to enter.
(15-17 years) – you will need permission to enter.
(18-25 years) – you will not need permission to enter.
There are some brilliant prizes up for grabs. First-place winners in each age category will receive £100 and have their work published in the 2024 Solstice Anthology. Five Highly Commended runners up per age category will receive goody bags and also have their work published in the online anthology. There are also regional prizes for the best pieces in each age group for young writers living in the East Midlands.
The head judge is the multi-award-winning and best-selling author of novels including Sky Hawk, Sky Dancer, White Dolphin, and A Story Like the Wind.
