DESCRIPTION:Deadline: 23.59 (UK time) on 31st January 2027\nEntry Fee: £23\nPrizes: First prize: £1\,000; five finalists receive £100; highest placed entry from the EX postcode: £200\nWord Limit: Up to 10\,000 words plus synopsis\nCategory: Novel Competitions\nHead Judge: Hellie Ogden – Literary Agent from WME Agency\nCompetition Website:  wordkitchen.org.uk/exeter-novel-prize\n\nThe Exeter Novel Prize is international and open to writers who are not represented by an agent.\nEntries should submitted via the submission page in the Word Kitchen website. Entries cost £23. There is also the option – for an extra fee – to receive a detailed appraisal of your submission (cost: £150 for entry fee and appraisal.) \nThe first prize is £1\,000 and five runners up each receive £100. New for 2027\, the highest placed entry from the EX postcode will receive a £200 EXcellence Award. The word limit for entries is 10\,000 words plus a short synopsis. The novel should not have been published by a traditional publishing house.  \nThe winners will be chosen by Hellie Ogden Head Of The Book Department at WME literary agency.
