But it is the prestige of winning the award that could really kickstart your career as a novelist.  \nKey Dates:\n– Prize opens 15th April 2026\n– Judges announcement on 30th April 2026\n– Prize closes for entries on 1st July 2026.\n– Longlist is announced in September 2026 – Dates to be confirmed\n– Top 100 will be announced shortly after the longlist in September.\n– Shortlist is announced in November 2026\n– Winner announcement will be in December 2026 \nNote that long-listed novels will be announced September and all long-listed writers will be required to send an additional 15\,000 words including the original 5\,000 words to make 20\,000 words\, plus your 500 word synopsis.
