They are seeking stories they haven’t seen before\, whether it twists or plays with genre\, setting\, language\, voice\, you name it.  \nTheir contests also feature a panel of three guest judges to help decide the winners for each category. For Fall 2026\, they have Joy Deva Baglio taking on short story judging\, Renia White on poetry duties\, and Wes Blake covering flash fiction.  \nWinners in each category will receive a cash prize\, as well as work with one of their Senior Editors to see their work published either online or in our print journal!

Enter the Southbank Centre and National Poetry Library’s Word Exchange competition celebrating poetry\, language\, dialects and sayings found across the UK. \nWrite your own Word Exchange poem and share a video performing it on Instagram or TikTok – and you could win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on stage at the London Literature Festival in 2027. \nWord Exchange poems are short poems that use the unique words\, sayings\, languages and dialects from where you live or grew up.
