As well as the open competitions (like this one) which are outlined on their website\, they also have an amazing members-only Facebook group. The group is a forum in which writers of all types and experience levels can support one another’s endeavours\, share success stories and generally chat about writing. But there are also loads of members-only competitions available\, most with cash prizes\, that are well worth checking out\, including their & Day Story Writing Challenges. The group is open to anyone who has entered one of the Globe Soup paid-for competitions. \nBack to this competition\, and with a great prize of £1\,000 for the winner\, it should be on your list of competitions to enter. It will particularly suit those who fancy having a go at historical fiction. \nBut these something of a twist here… your story should be set in one of five historical periods: \n\nThe Vikings\nWorld War II\nAncient Egypt\nAmerican Civil War\nThe Roaring 20’s\n\nThe twist\, however\, is that you won’t know which period you’ve got until you purchase your ticket for the competition.
