Not only is there an excellent panel of judges (tbc)\, the competition also stands out because ALL entrants receive feedback on their submission (of at least one paragraph).  \nWith a top prize of £1\,000\, there is clearly a lot of appeal. As is the additional prizes of being published the magazine and receiving a one-year subscription too. \nNote that the standard entry fee is €18 but you get a discount if you get your entry in early enough.

There’s also a second prize of £500\, a third prize of £250 and the Kathryn Bevis Prize\, which will be awarded for the best poem entered by a Hampshire-based poet. \nThis year’s judge is Julia Copusm who has published four collections of poetry. Girlhood (Faber 2019) was winner of America’s inaugural Derek Walcott Prize. She has tutored poetry courses for Oxford University and the Arvon Foundation\, and currently teaches for the Faber Academy. Julia is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. \nThe longlist will be announced mid September\, with winners announced live at a special prize-giving ceremony as part of Winchester Poetry Day at The ARC\, Winchester on Saturday 10th October 2026.
