The Bournemouth Writing Prize celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026, with the largest prize fund of £3,000 for winners. Every year, they support a writing charity to help more people to express themselves through words – providing access to writing professionals and offering free workshops. This year, the competition will support The Storyworks. Entrants can make a donation to the charity helping young people find their voice when submitting their entry.
The Short Story Judge is Madeleine Milburn, the founder of Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency, one of the top literary agents in the UK. While the Poetry Judge is Bournemouth-based Abu Ibrahim (IB), a poet and spoken word artist who has gained recognition for his work across various literary platforms.
