Organised by Calibre Audio (a registered charity that produces audiobooks for people living with a print disability), the Inclusive Voices Short Story Competition is seeking entries of up to 550 words from people of all ages. There are various age categories and written, video or audio entries are accepted.
Stories can be submitted as either narrative or verse and can be submitted in writing as a Word document or PDF; as a standard video file (MP4) or a standard audio file (MP3 or WAV). Any submissions in other formats will not be considered. Your story must feature Audio, Braille, or Community (or all three!). All stories must be submitted in English.
The panel of judges – including writers, accessibility advocates and Calibre staff – will assess entries based on originality, creativity, use of theme, and authentic representation. Judging takes place in September and October 2025, with winners announced at end of October 2025.
