Please follow the submission instructions below to submit your poem(s) to the New Writers Historical Flash Fiction Competition 2025.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS – ENTER UP TO THREE ENTRIES
- Entries must be received by 23.59 (UK time) on Wednesday 5th November 2025.
- Make your payment through PayPal (using the button/link below) corresponding to the number of entries you wish to submit (£8 for one, £15 for two, £21 for three).
- Make a note of your PayPal Transaction ID. After payment has been made it will redirect you back to this page.
- Fill in your PayPal Transaction ID, name, your email address, pen name/alias (optional) and the title(s) of your poem(s) in the Entry Form below.
- Upload your entry (or entries) by clicking ‘Choose File’, ensuring it is in one of the supported file types (Word doc, .docx, .odt, or PDF). If you want to replace the file, click the red cross (the red cross does not signify an error; it just shows the file is attached).
- Click the box if that entry is set in one of the Historic Houses properties (and thus will be in contention for the additional prize in addition to the main prize).
- Read the Competition Rules, Terms & Conditions and tick the box to confirm you have done so and that you agree to them.
- Click to sign up to our monthly newsletter (optional but gives access to free-to-enter writing competitions with cash prizes, writing tips and more).
- Once submitted, your entry or entries will be sent to the judges at NewWriters.org.uk.
- You will receive two confirmation emails, one from PayPal confirming your payment and one from New Writers confirming receipt of your entry.
- If you do not receive a confirmation email from NewWriters.org.uk within 24 hours (and it’s not in your spam folder), please email david@newwriters.org.uk.
