This is the fifth annual poetry prize organised by The Latin Programme – a charity promoting the learning of Latin in schools. The winner of the competition will earn £200 and all shortlisted poems will be included in our Poetry Prize Anthology. They will also be invited to share their work at a prize giving event.
Note that the prompt for the competition – textura (‘texture, web, structure’) – can be interpreted as you see fit. Entries are not required to reference Latin or the ancient world specifically. Although words or phrases in other languages are permitted, entries should be written predominantly in English. The prize is open to adults (18+).
Check the competition site for further details.
