New Writers Poetry Competition 2023

  • Entry Fee: £10 per entry (£1 from each entry donated to charity)
  • Prizes: 1st Place: £1,000; 2nd Place: £300; 3rd Place: £200;
  • Word Limit: 40 lines (excluding title)
  • Charity:  £1 from each entry will be donated to First Story (England’s leading creative writing charity for young people)

The first poetry competition run by NewWriters.org.uk, the New Writers Poetry Competition 2023 is seeking fresh new poetry. With a prize fun of £1,500 and the winners getting published on the website, this is a great competition for new and experienced poets to get their work out there.

We’ve also got the talented and experienced poet, playwright and teacher, Andy Craven-Griffiths as the head judge. You can read more about Andy HERE.

Also, £1.00 from each entry will be donated to creative writing charity, First Story (who do some brilliant work to help empower young people and give them a creative voice). So even if you don’t win, you’ll still be contributing to a good cause.
