The Walk With Words Competition links in with the Walk with Words interactive walking route that connects Colchester City Centre, the University of Essex, and Greenstead. Arranged on 16 posts, a QR code geo-locates content, offering walkers a diverse mix of materials inspired by the journey – contributed by the community and curated from existing pieces.
Entrants to this competition are invited to take inspiration from any moment on walk or the surrounding area to create content under the 2024 theme of ‘Memories’. The route can be found on the map below, with the 16 locations highlighted. Submissions could be in the form of, but are not limited to, poems, riddles, local advice, anecdotes, short stories, photography with captions, short films or spoken word.
