The Fish Flash Fiction Prize, run by west Ireland-based Fish Publishing, offers a top prize of €1,000 and is judged by the poet Billy Collins. The €16 entry fee might seem a little steep, but subsequent entries cost a little less at €11. There is the option to pay an extra €45 to get a critique of your entry, if that appeals to you.
Aside from the prizes listed above, the top 10 stories will be published in the next Fish Anthology, which is a great way to get your writing out to a wider audience. So if you have written a poem you’re particularly proud of, the Fish Poetry Prize could be for you.
