The 2nd ISAC International Lyric Competition, organised by Ise-Shima Art Company in Japan, welcomes original song lyrics from writers of all ages and nationalities.
Lyrics alone are sufficient: entrants do not need to compose music, sing or submit a recording. The competition is specifically for song lyrics, with unrestricted genre and length. Collaborative works, previously published lyrics and works awarded in other competitions are eligible.
Lyrics in languages other than Japanese and English are also accepted. If no Japanese or English translation is supplied, the organiser arranges translation and pronunciation checking under the rules.
The entry fee is JPY 2,000 per work, non-refundable. The Grand Prize is JPY 50,000 and a certificate; Special Prizes provide certificates for up to approximately 35 entrants. Awards and prize allocation remain subject to the official rules. Copyright remains with the lyricist. AI use is prohibited.
Entries close on 1 March 2027 at 23:59 GMT. Results are scheduled for 5 May 2027. Full rules and online entry are available on the official website.
