Intrepid Times’ 10th writing competition invites readers and wanderers to explore the books that have guided our lives and impelled our adventures. Write a non-fiction travel story of up to 2,000 words that describes following in the footsteps of your literary heroes.
Your story should be non-fiction, between 1,200 and 2,000 words in length, and written in the narrative style favoured by Intrepid Times stories (as exemplified here: intrepidtimes.com/stories/). The winning writer will be paid $300 USD and have their original story and accompanying photographs published in Intrepid Times. Up to four runners-up will also be selected for publication and paid at the publication’s standard article rates.
Entry is free but there is the chance to purchase an ‘Assessed’ option for constructive feedback from the Intrepid Times’ editorial team. Members of the Travel Writer’s Club can take advantage of the Assessed option free of charge.
