Pitch Young Sports Journalist of the year competition

Prizes: Publication in Pitch Mag, £50 and possible work experience
Word Limit: 700 to 800 words

Eligibility: Open to young people aged between 14-21, attending
school, college or university in the UK

Organised by Pitch Magazine, the Pitch Mag Young Sports Journalist Competition 2025 is open to aspiring journalists aged 14 to 21 years old and is split into the following age categories:

14-15 year olds: Is darts a game or a sport?
16-17 year olds: Should the Olympics introduce prize money?
18-19 year olds: Should junk food companies be allowed to sponsor sport?
20-21 year olds: Is fan ownership of sports teams a good idea?

Winning entries will be published online and printed in the Summer Issue of Pitch. Critiqued by the panel of accomplished judges, winners will also receive a £50 cash prize and be offered work experience at PITCH HQ.
