Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Competition

Entry Fee: €7 per poem or €30 for a batch of five
Prizes: Winner: €2,000 and featured reading at the Cork International Poetry Festival ; 2nd Prize: €500; 3rd Prize: €250; 10 Runners-up: €50 (Winners and runners-up will also be published in in Southword literary journal)
The Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Competition is sponsored by the Munster Literature Centre and has been running since 2010. The prize is named in honour of the late Irish poet long associated with the Centre.
As well as the tidy cash prize, the winning poet will also have their poem featured at the Cork International Poetry Festival (with a four-night hotel stay and full board!), and it will feature on the Southword Poetry Podcast and be published in the Southword literary journal.
