The Marlowe and Christie Novel Prize is open to unpublished novelists and is seeking the opening 3,000 words from your novel. Entries can be on any subject and in any style or genre. DEADLINE AND FEE: Early-Bird Deadline 5th November 2025: £19.00; Final Deadline 5th January 2026: £24.00. Entrants will be notified of the results by 5th April.
The head judge is Patrick Gleeson, author of Hattie Brings the House Down, published in 2024 by Bedford Square Publishers, who will be giving feedback on each of the 10 shortlisted entries. The top three entries will also receive feedback from Alec Shane, literary agent with Writers House, Jenny Hewson, literary agent from Lutyens & Rubinstein and Guest Reviewer Katie Seaman, Developmental Editor and Former Commissioning Editor at HQ.
In addition to the standard entry option, there are several entry options that include feedback (for additional fees): Bronze (with one paragraph of feedback), Silver (with one page of feedback), and Gold (with one page of feedback and a 20-minute Zoom call).
