The second poetry competition run by NewWriters.org.uk, the New Writers Poetry Competition 2024 is seeking fresh new poetry with no theme or style restrictions. With a prize fund of £1,500 and the winners getting published on the website and in a future New Writers Anthology, this is a great competition for new and experienced poets to get their work out there.
We’re very pleased to welcome talented poet and performer Jordan Hamel as the Head Judge for the competition. Jordan’s debut poetry collection is being publishing in the UK on the 31st July 2024 (the same day as the competition’s deadline) and Jordan won our 2023 Poetry Competition with his excellent poem, How to cheat death in a nightclub bathroom.
Also, £1.00 from each entry will be donated to creative writing charity, First Story (who do some brilliant work to help empower young people and give them a creative voice). So even if you don’t win, you’ll still be contributing to a fantastic cause.
