The Writers’ & Artists’ Short Story Competition 2025 is fantastic opportunity for a short story writer to win a place on the renowned Arvon Residential Writing Week course, which usually costs £850. The competition is free to enter (although you’ll need a – free – account at the Writers’ & Artists’ website).
Head judge Vanessa Onwuemezi won The White Review Short Story Prize in 2019 and her work has appeared in literary and art magazines, including Granta, Frieze and Prototype.
The closing date for entries is midnight 14th February 2025, and the winner – along with two runners-up – will be announced on the blog pages of their site in March 2025.
